Dating Younger Women After Divorce

I recently participated in a singles tour to Cebu Philippines and had an absolutely fantastic time there. I'm in my early 50's but ended up seeing several Filipinas in their mid-twenties. The thing about it, I experienced no discomfort or guilt about seeing these young asian women, none whatsoever. In fact, they both expressed their feelings of trust and comfort about me.

Now I've returned back to the states, and found myself completely turned off by women my age who seem so entirely judgemental about my experience in Cebu. Instead of being glad for my youthful re-invigorance, several have outwardly complained that I'm a dirty old man looking to rob the cradle. I told these American women that I hand't had sex with my younger Philippine lady friends, but it didn't seem to matter. They seemed to take the whole thing very personally, as if Id done something awful to them.

Has anyone else ever experienced something like this?

Dating Younger Women

Whether or not it is acceptable for older men to date younger woman is based mostly on culture. Age is regarded differently from culture to culture. I will say that I would never allow an older man to date my 22 year old sister. But I doubt I could really do anything about it if she was insistant.

The Philippines, much like Taiwan, regards older men with respect and are more accepting of age separation. But in America, older men dating younger women is pretty much frowned on, especially by American women.

Thinking of getting back in to the dating game

After losing my wife to cancer in 2018, I have been alone and miserable. My children are of the opinion that I must get back in to the dating world and find someone compatible with my age (76) and background. I suppose a younger woman of, say, 70 would be nice or perhaps 30ish - although in that case I might be too much to handle for such a younger woman.

My values are obviously older school, and so I have been learning about eastern European women whom I find more refined and educated. Age really is not an issue with me as long as the conversation and dancing is good. I am in fairly good condition for my age and walk several miles each day, lift light weights. I am quite the dynamic fellow.

If anyone has good advice on the world of dating for a fellow like me, please feel free to provide your opinion and experience. All efforts are welcome.

Thank you.
