Alanta police run child pornography ring
ATLANTA -- A police officer's husband was to face a judge Friday over a federal charge he took photos of himself having sex with young girls. The case involves allegations the officer destroyed potential evidence and her department knew about the photos seven years ago but took no action.
The case against Terrill Crane, who was charged Thursday with producing child pornography, and the allegations against his wife, Atlanta police Sgt. Tanya Crane, represent another black eye for a police department still reeling from the fatal shooting by officers of a 92-year-old woman during a botched drug raid last year.
The wife has not been charged by federal authorities. She is currently on paid administrative leave from the police force, department spokeswoman Judy Pal said Friday.
Her husband was in federal custody pending an initial appearance before a magistrate judge. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted
